I really like Luminar too, and would prefer it over Affinity, were Picktorial not a choice. And I feel that for Fuji RAW processing, it is the superior choice. It's fast, and holds exactly the right balance, for me, of simplicity and power. Somewhat to my own surprise, I believe I've settled on Picktorial as my preference for editor. At first I didn't like it, since I liked Aperture much more - but then I realized, I don't like LightRoom for DAM either, if I'm going to use something I don't like may as well just use Photos. I was just going to try using that for DAM again. I also have been strongly thinking about dropping LR for organization, and I never really used PS for editing with all these other great choices we have. It could be each program is best for different kinds of images. I've not used Picktorial yet but after watching a video of they approach they have to adjustments, I thought it made a ton of sense. Also have Affinity, which I especially love on the iPad (I have both Mac and iPad versions). For 40 bucks (on sale), I don't see how I can miss, with Picktorial. If I were going that route, I'd more likely choose GIMP, or just go ahead and proceed down the Adobe rabbit hole. It is, essentially, a Photoshop emulator. Affinity, while obviously very powerful, gives me more tools than I need, and an overly-complex interface & workflow. (Which, incidentally, also means that my process right now also includes choosing from various sorting/management/viewing (DAM) options - with Lyn and Adobe Bridge being the two I've got it narrowed down to). I'd rather have things de-coupled, such that I can be more agile with how I want my workflow, from storage, management, viewing, sharing, and editing. Which is, similarly, why I've gotten away from Apple Photos altogether. I excluded the Adobe route pretty early-on, for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is the cost and being tied to a subscription & all-in-one type of solution. I have been evaluating all the various editing options for Mac & Fuji X - with Affinity, Picktorial, Luminar, Lightroom, Polarr and a few others on my list. So beware about buying more and more plugins all the time, perhaps try to get the most out of what you have already first. However, I do find it can get a bit silly with how much you can spend on stuff you don't end up really using - I bought AfterShot 3 Pro on a whim, having managed to upgrade from a bundle purchase, but to be frank, it was a total waste of cash, the app is not a patch on its competitors. I also have a bunch of Extensions, and really like Luminar - I have the set of MacPhun Creative apps, but find I use Luminar and Noiseless the most. I also moved to Photos for my DAM and basic editing (as it happens I find I can get very pleasing results much more easily than with LR). Likewise, I dumped LR, although I still have my library installed on a separate drive. I only wish Smart Albums would sync with IOS devices. its working better than I thought it would. I might pickup Affinity for advanced pixel editing when I need it. I am getting very close to dumping Lr and PS. I think I will have both thank you very much!!!! Might have a look myself, it looks promising. But just yesterday tried a trial of Picktorial 3 and I must say, I am quite impressed. There currently are unique cameras, unique samples.I have been using Luminar a ton lately. Please refer to this post for the up-to-date information. NOTE: this table does not list the availability of freely available sample at. Noise Profile: If darktable has a noise profile so you can use the profiled denoise module with the cameraĬustom Matrix: If darktable has a user supplied custom matrix for the camera as a potential alternative in the color input module WB Presets: If darktable has white balance presets for the camera so you can choose things like “Daylight” and “Fluorescent” in the temperature module You don’t need to go through these steps yourself necessarily but instead attach enough sample files to the bug report so we can do it ourselves.Ĭamera: The name of the camera with at least basic support in darktable What’s involved with adding support for new cameras. For details on the kinds of things that are needed see these two blog posts: If your particular camera is not on the list or is missing some form of support please check for an open bug report and if one doesn’t exist create one and attach sample files. Cameras that produce DNG files should be supported even if they are not on the list but samples are still appreciated. This is an auto-generated list of the state of support of different camera models.
